Voting matters, but democracy is about more than what happens on Election Day. It begins with people knowing one another, listening to one another, and taking part in the decisions that shape their community.

Rock the Vote Walla Walla creates a welcoming place to meet candidates, ask questions, learn about local organizations, register to vote, enjoy some terrific music, and spend time together.

The event is about participation—not telling anyone how to vote. Everyone is welcome.

Rock the Vote Walla Walla is a free community celebration bringing people together through live music, conversation, food, and civic participation.

The day begins with a candidate panel and continues with local bands, guest speakers, community organizations, voter registration, and opportunities to connect with the people working to make the Walla Walla Valley a stronger place to live.

Running Waters Equity Fund

Rock the Vote Walla Walla is organized by Running Waters Equity Fund, an independent nonprofit working to build community power throughout the Blue Mountain Region.

Running Waters Equity Fund supports advocacy, leadership development, civic engagement, cultural investment, and community-led work—particularly efforts that strengthen historically marginalized communities and expand access, opportunity, and representation.

Comon Pholk brings people together through music, movement, and creative collaboration. Its work celebrates local voices and uses the arts to build connection across the Walla Walla community.

CTAW provides free arts education and creative opportunities for young people in the Walla Walla Valley. Its programs give students welcoming places to explore their creativity, develop new skills, and connect through the arts.

 

The Health Center provides medical and behavioral health services to Walla Walla students through clinics located at local schools. By offering care during the school day, The Health Center makes it easier for young people to receive the support they need.

WWIRC supports and empowers the Valley’s immigrant community through education, advocacy, outreach, and emergency aid. The organization connects immigrant families with resources and works to build a more equitable and welcoming community.

Walla Walla Activism Network is a grassroots organization that brings community members together for peaceful action and civic engagement. The network helps people stay informed, connect around shared concerns, and participate in demonstrations and other forms of community advocacy.

 

WWCC Student Life helps students connect and find their place beyond the classroom. Through student government, clubs, and activities, it creates opportunities to build friendships, develop leadership skills, and take part in campus and community life.

Walla Walla County Democrats connects local residents with Democratic candidates, issues, volunteer opportunities, and ways to participate in the political process. The organization works to elect Democratic candidates and advance the party’s priorities in Walla Walla County.

 

Walla Walla Print Co. helps local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations share their ideas through graphic design, websites, printing, signs, apparel, and promotional products. The company provided creative and production support for Rock the Vote Walla Walla.

Washington Youth Alliance Walla Walla Chapter

Washington Youth Alliance is a youth-led statewide network helping young people make their voices heard in government and their communities. The Walla Walla chapter gives local youth opportunities to organize, develop leadership skills, and participate in decisions that affect their lives.

5th Element Project

5th Element Project creates opportunities for education, performance, and cultural expression through hip-hop. Its programs and community events support local artists while introducing young people to the creativity, history, and many elements of hip-hop culture.

 

Civil Survival

Civil Survival organizes and supports people directly affected by the criminal legal system. The organization provides legal assistance and reentry resources, builds community, and advocates for policy changes that restore opportunity and recognize every person’s dignity and potential.

 

Walla Walla Immigrant Rights Coalition

YWCA Walla Walla

YWCA Walla Walla works to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. Its services include domestic-violence and sexual-assault support, emergency shelter, advocacy, counseling, childcare, and community programs.

Walla Walla Pride

Walla Walla Pride is a volunteer-led coalition working to build, empower, and connect the LGBTQ+ community. Through inclusive events, partnerships, and advocacy, it celebrates diversity and helps create a stronger sense of belonging throughout the Valley.

 

Washington State Lowriders Car Club

Based in Walla Walla, Washington State Lowriders Car Club celebrates culture, family, craftsmanship, and community through lowriding. The club works to preserve and share lowrider traditions while welcoming new generations through family-friendly events and gatherings.

 

House of Grace Apothecary

House of Grace Apothecary is a small business based in Dayton offering teas, tinctures, roots, crafts, and other plant-inspired goods. Owner Shakira Collins is also a community advocate whose work is rooted in wellness, creativity, resilience, and hope.

 

YMCA Youth & Government

YMCA Youth & Government gives teens hands-on experience with democracy by placing them in the roles of legislators, attorneys, elected officials, and other civic leaders. Participants research issues, write and debate legislation, and develop leadership and public-speaking skills.

Communities for Our Colleges

Communities for Our Colleges is a multiracial, student-centered campaign working to strengthen Washington’s community and technical colleges. It brings together students, faculty, staff, and community members to advocate for affordable education, equitable access, racial equity, and stronger public investment in higher education.
